Their Story
Kristin and Amanda tied the knot on July 21, 2023 at Crystal Plaza in Livingston.
They originally met online. “We quickly bonded over food and travel, then quickly found out our deeper connection to shared experiences surrounding leukemia,” says Kristin. “It was then we knew we were destined for each other.”

The Proposal
Kristin and Amanda had a double proposal. “Two brides mean double the fun,” says Kristin.

“I had planned a surprise proposal with a big surprise engagement party with 80 of our close friends and family. Amanda planned a perfect, intimate surprise proposal at home to ask the burning question. The numerous candles and rose petals caused a small little fire, even causing us laughter still to this day.”

Choosing the Venue
“Max Janoff and his team at Crystal Plaza are the best in the business,” says Kristin. “Not only is the venue stunning, but the service leading up to the big day made us feel like we were the only wedding they were dealing with. Then, the day of, our attendants and day-of coordinators were beyond our wildest dreams.”

Details of the Day
The couple wanted a timeless color scheme, with taupe, black, gold, white and greenery throughout their venue. The wedding party coordinated in taupe, rose gold and traditional black tuxes.

The pair included a variety of small, personal details throughout the day, including a personalized espresso martini bar, a memorial table for family and friends who were there in spirit, a globe guestbook (as the couple loves to travel), a “Simply the Best” neon sign, a gorgeous greenery wall seating chart, custom beer labels, and lots of disco balls and tropical decor for the after party.

Favorite Moment
“Our favorite moment was doing a room reveal/first look of the room before the rest of the guests during cocktail hour,” says Kristin. “We were able to see all our vendors and thank them for putting all our visions together to perfectly.

“We also got gorgeous photos and videos together in the space and be able to get the party started with our entertainment crew. This was such a beautiful and intimate moment as a newlyweds to see all our hard work and planning come to life.”

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
Creating their ceremony with Rachel at Love & Light Officiants.

“The ceremony and our expression of love to each other was the most important pat of the whole day,” Kristin says. “Rachel worked with us to create a beautifully unique and one-of-a-kind ceremony that demonstrated our love for each other so perfectly.”
Advice for Other Couples
“Enjoy the process. We loved getting to know our vendors and it made the big day even better. We felt like we really knew everyone who were part of our special day, and it made it that much more personal.”

Honeymoon
The couple spent three weeks in Europe, starting in Greece, then touring through Italy and Germany.

“Were we the only two on our honeymoon at Oktoberfest, probably, but no regrets!” says Kristin.
