Alissa and Chris tied the knot on May 11, 2025, at The Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury.
The Proposal
Alissa thought they were heading out for dinner, but instead, she walked into the most beautiful surprise—a trail of rose petals.

“Chris was waiting, emotional and smiling, and then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever,” says Alissa. “It was simple, heartfelt and perfect.”
Details of the Day
“After two and a half years of building a life together, I, at 50, and Chris, at 55, celebrated our love in front of friends and family,” says Alissa.

“Our wedding wasn’t just a ceremony—it was a declaration,” says Alissa. “A declaration that love can come at any age, and that it’s never too late to start a new chapter. So, to anyone who thinks it’s too late or that their story is already written: don’t give up on love.”

There wedding was Mother’s Day—”a beautiful tribute to the women who shaped us and a reminder of the love that runs deep through generations,” says the bride.

During cocktail hour, a floral violinist set the tone for an evening full of wonder. The ceremony and reception were adorned with cherry blossom tree centerpieces, each one delicately decorated with fresh white and blush roses suspended by ribbons.

Choosing the Venue
The couple chose Shadowbrook for “its rich history, combined with the modern sophistication of a beautifully restored venue, created the perfect backdrop for our love story—one built on both life’s lessons and the joy of new beginnings,” says Alissa.

Favorite Moment
The most memorable moment for Alissa was having her father walk her down the aisle.
“At 50, I never imagined I would still have the chance to share that experience with him,” says Alissa.

“It wasn’t easy for my dad physically,” she adds, “but with strength in his heart, a walker for support, and a smile bigger than the sun, he stood by my side and walked me toward the next chapter of my life.”
Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
Alissa’s favorite details was the ceremony aisle lined with cherry blossoms.
“It wasn’t just about their breathtaking beauty,” she says, “it was the meaning behind them that spoke to the very heart of our love story. Cherry blossoms symbolize the fleeting nature of time, the delicate beauty of life, and the profound grace of new beginnings. Falling in love later in life gave us a unique perspective. We know how precious love is.”

Wedding Day Attire
Alissa walked down the aisle in a breathtaking Martina Liana gown. The dress, custom-tailored to reflect her unique style, featured 75 shimmering Swarovski crystal buttons cascading down the back. Chris wore a black tuxedo and black tie, sharp and sophisticated. The bridesmaids wore bright pink strapless dresses that celebrated their youth.

Advice For Other Couples
“Love can come at any age—be patient, stay open, and never settle for less than a love that feels like home,” says Alissa. “The right person is always worth the wait.”
Honeymoon
This month the newlyweds are setting off to the Amalfi Coast for a week of sun, delicious food, coastal views and pure relaxation.

From there, they’ll travel to Sicily for something even more special—celebrating the wedding of Alissa’s two dearest friends, whom she introduced. “Perfect ending to our honeymoon with love, laughter and another beautiful ‘I do,'” says Alissa.
