Central Park
How did he ask?
On December 23rd we took our annual Christmastime trip to New York City. It was pouring rain and we were walking by Central Park with umbrellas when Jeff said, “Surprise! I got us a horse carriage ride as one of your Christmas presents this year!” I was reluctant to get in as we were already soaking wet but Jeff seemed excited so I went with it. We rode through Central Park with our horse Kevin and halfway through pulled over as our driver told us this would be a good spot to take some pictures. I said, “No, that’s okay,” not wanting to get out of the carriage but Jeff insisted.
We walked down to Bethesda Fountain and Jeff got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We were drenched but it didn’t matter and we spent the rest of the day at the Natural History Museum while Jeff looked at the exhibits and I looked at my ring. We got dinner at a pub and ate burgers and drank champagne and saw the tree and headed home on the train engaged.
We are having a backyard summer wedding and both grew up at the beach and wanted our engagement pictures to reflect that!
