Amanda and Matt wed at The Grand on June 17, 2023.
Their Story
The couple met in Hoboken at the Wicked Wolf bar. Amanda spilled her cranberry vodka all over Matt’s new white pants. She offered to buy him a drink, but he declined and instead offered to buy her a drink.

“Our lives forever changed that day,” says Amanda. “We both believe everything happens for a reason. One could say it was just another clumsy spill, but I think that was a sign.”

The Proposal
Amanda wanted to go to Paris, France to celebrate once she completed dental hygiene school. But in 2021, Covid-19 was still present so they opted for a plan B.

Amanda is obsessed with Disney so they took a trip there instead. “When we go to the resort our friend informed us Disney had upgraded our room as a ‘college graduation gift.’ Little did I know that Matt was going to propose the following day, in Epcot underneath the Eiffel Tower.”

Details of the Day
They chose a neutral palate, a lot of dusty rose, beige and champagne colors. All the girls wore the same type of dress and the matron of honor wore a simple belt. Everyone from the bridal party wore their hair half up, half down, neutral shoes and the same earrings.
All the groomsmen wore a black suit with matching pocket square and bow ties.

Flowers were white, dusty rose with beige. They had a mix of high and low centerpieces. Table covers were off white with swirls and the napkins were ivory/champagne color.

They had a cigar bra that was set outside on the patio of the venue.
“We had a very grand entrance,” says Amanda, “We literally came up from the floor (we didn’t tell anyone about it), it was a very huge surprise to our guests.”

An LED robot really had the crowd going.
“It was a perfect blend to mix the Polish- American culture. I grew up in Poland and my now husband was born here. I was a little nervous how the families would blend during the wedding but everyone had so much fun,” says Amanda.

Choosing the Venue
The couple chose The Grand for its, “great staff, amazing food, the outside of the venue is stunning and I love how they went beyond to included a lot of my Polish culture,” says the bride.
“They really made us feel so special, like we were part of the family.”

The Menu
Cocktail hour included many different stations (sushi, raw bar, Italian, Asian, Polish).
For dinner, they went with the venue specialty salad and guests had a choice between chicken, fish and beef. For dessert, they had a Venetian hour.

The cake had three layers: dark chocolate with raspberry filling, vanilla cake with whipped cream and dark chocolate with raspberry mousse.

Bridal Style
Ever since Amanda came into this country, she would always watch “Say Yes to the Dress.”
“t was my dream to go to Kleinfelds,” she says. “I knew I wanted to go there when it was my time.”

Amanda had a cathedral-length gown and veil. Her dress had a beaded top and lace bottom. “It blended so beautifully together,” she says. She plans to pass down her veil to her sister.
Favorite Moment
Amanda loved that so many family members flew in from all over the country and world. Guests traveled from Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansa, Washington, Norway, England, Philippines, and of course Poland.

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
Amanda’s 83-year-old grandma flew all the way from Poland.
“Me and her are extremely close,” says Amanda. “We speak on the phone five times a week. I couldn’t imagine her missing out on this day”.

Advice For Other Couples
“Do not sweat the small stuff,” says Amanda. “Ladies, we been planning for weeks, months or even years! Unfortunately things will happen that are out of our hands. You just have to roll with the punches and always repeat to yourself you will never get that day back. Enjoy every single second.”

Honeymoon
The newlyweds went to Maldives. “It was quite the journey to get there. It took us 32 hours to get there but it was so worth it!”
