Johnette and Lukeman tied the knot on April 14, 2024 at Clarks Landing Yacht Club.

Their love story began online in the fall of 2018 when we matched on Bumble.

“Initially, we didn’t think much of each other and weren’t sure if we would continue seeing one another,” says Johnette.

“However, as fate would have it, we kept in touch and learned more about each other, which brought us closer together. Our love grew as we got to know one another and saw each other’s true selves.”

The Proposal

Lukeman proposed on Christmas Day in 2022, which is Johnette’s favorite holiday.

“The moment was perfect and intimate, just the three of us—Lukeman, our daughter, and me,” says Johnette.

“He handed me a large box, and at the bottom, I found a ring box. When I opened it, I couldn’t help but cry. When I looked up, he was down on one knee.”

Favorite Moment

“Choosing just one moment is difficult since the day felt like a dream,” says Johnette. “I loved our entrance and first dance. Having all of our closest friends and family cheering for us and celebrating together felt amazing.”

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without

“I loved the tablescapes,” says Johnette. “They were minimalistic yet incredibly beautiful.”

Wedding Day Attire 

“My wedding gown was a Wona concept design that made me feel and look divine,” says Johnette. “My husband wore a custom tuxedo by BeSpoke Room Atlanta.”

The bridesmaids wore beautiful sage satin gowns in styles of their choice. The groomsmen were also in custom suits by the BeSpoke Room Atlanta.

For Johnette’s reception dress, she wore a maxi tulle dress from Selezza London.

Honeymoon

They spent their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos for five days.

“It was perfect for us to get away and simply relax by the water together,” says Johnette.
