On a night out with friends, RikkiLynn approached Rory and admitted that she found him attractive and confessed to wanting to kiss him.

“After kissing and exchanging numbers, we became official on December 6, 2015 and have been together ever since,” she says.

The Proposal

The pair got engaged on Sunset Beach in Cape May, “which was also our first vacation together in June 2016,” says RikkiLynn.

“On August 24, Rory, my parents and I had rushed to watch the sunset,” she explains. “Rory and I went for a walk down the beach, he got down on one knee, and before he even popped the question, I said ‘yes!'”

“I was not expecting it,” she adds. “My nails were not done and I was wearing a t-shirt.”

Details of the Day

Their theme was modern rustic. The bridesmaids each wore a different color and style of earth tone dress.

“We kept flowers, grown at the farm and arranged by Candice, neutral toned, with cream roses and pampas,” says RikkiLynn.

The food was one of the best parts, all sourced locally or grown at the farm.

In lieu of favors, they made a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Choosing the Venue

The Farm at Glenwood Mountain was the first and only venue that they toured and they knew it was the right fit.

“The Farm is owned by Steve and his wife Candice, whose love for the farm is seen in every detail of the venue, from the barn to the pasture to the herb garden,” says the bride.

They wanted an intimate vibe with attention to detail, “and they delivered from our first visit until the big day!” she adds.

Favorite Moment

RikkiLynn loved all of the delicious food prepared by Steve, the owner of the farm.

Another memorable moment was doing the worm in her wedding gown followed by her best friend and bridesmaid Melanie doing a split on the dance floor.
